Moe Asari
‘Interspecies Borders -Asking the Black Kite,’ a project we stitched for Moe Asari that explores explores how designing for the re-wilding of the bird of prey, the Black Kite, to Millingerwaard, a nature reserve in The Netherlands developed into an investigation of interspecies borders, boundaries between humans and the Black Kite.
Using existing home textiles with lace detailing as a base for Moe’s drawings, each piece was delicately embroidered with ripstop appliqué.
Moe’s pieces were recently on show at The South London Gallery for Flock Together and Computer Room’s curated show ‘Dwellings’.
