A limited edition embroidery of Hannah Ekuwa Buckman’s artwork, ‘Scab’, using cotton, wool and viscose threads. In collaboration with the artist, this piece aims to explore Hannah’s signature style through thread and texture.
Hannah Ekuwa Buckman is a Scottish-Ghanaian, London-based multidisciplinary artist known for her expressive, characterful work featuring bold colours and layered narratives. A Camberwell College of Arts graduate, and Royal Drawing School alumni, she has worked with The New York Times, Google and Time Out. Her process blends the hand-drawn with digital techniques, creating a distinctive "scratchy, quirky" style where the line guides us around the image like a dance.
'Scab' is an exploration of her current themes revolving around transformation, her mixed heritage, cycles of nature, and the surreal in-between place of something half-formed, either coming undone or becoming.
